06/20/2020 - Things that should be mentioned towards the beginning of a person's education

• Nobody understands why were are here and what the point of life is. "Life is a mystery, everyone must stand alone" (Madonna, in the song "Like a Prayer").
• Confidence is the result of either trickery or delusion. Nobody has reason to be confident about anything (see above).
• Much of life consists of figuring out a way to get things from other people.
• Much of life consists of distractions that help people avoid thinking about death or convince them that death is OK.
• All religions are created and propagated by men (see above).
• We are all on the road to oblivion. The destination for all of us is the same whatever path we take.
• Despite the above, it is possible to find happiness while we are alive.
